Universal Landscape: Release of toxicity.
Dreaming Lens: Were you urinating? Was someone else? Were you in a bathroom setting? Did you have an accident? Were you in bed? Did you wake up from the dream and have to urinate? Was the dream erotic? Was it repulsive? Were you urinating on someone? Was someone urinating on you?
Personal Focus: We mostly think of urination in terms of the elimination of waste and urine as the fluid that bears toxic material out of the body. Our blood picks up chemicals and other harmful materials, which are then transferred by the kidneys into a solution held by the bladder. If this doesn’t occur, the body would poison itself. Urination in a dream may be pointing to a buildup of negative thoughts or unexpressed anger, hence the phrase, “pissed off.”
There are other perceptions of urine that come through the collective from other cultures. One such distinction comes from the many societies where the drinking of one’s own urine is considered vital and healthy. Dreaming of this may indicate that there is a mechanism you are unaware of or that might seem unpalatable, but that could be quite good for you. Issues relating to anger might need some reconsideration, like a “taste of your own medicine” as the saying goes.
There is a sexual subculture in which urinating on someone or being urinated on by another is considered highly erotic. It is also a symbol of the hierarchy of power between two individuals. In sexual role-play, while it may appear that the dominant party holds more power by virtue of the act itself, in actuality the receiver, or “bottom,” is the one with the control in any interaction. Therefore, in any dream involving this sort of activity, consider that if you are the giver you may be experiencing toxic backlash from some area in life where you are being insensitive or lacking compassion. If you are on the receiving end of urination, then you may want to consider where in your life you may be compromising yourself through manipulation or some other hidden motivation.
There can be a physiological function involved in this dream image and the body may assist in the unconscious process: if you have to pee, you just might dream about it first. This does not alter the interpretive meaning, and such a dream deserves investigation of its imagery as much as any other.
