(1) The meaning of hunger in a dream may be non-symbolic: you just feel hungry.
(2) If the hunger is symbolic, it will usually stand for emotional or sexual craving; but it may also represent a pining for meaning, or personal achievement, or personal development. Are you bored? Is life unfulfilling? This may be what caused the ‘hunger5 expressed in the dream.
(3) If it is someone or something else that is hungry in the dream, perhaps some (repressed) part of you is being starved of attention or deprived of proper expression in your conscious life.
