[1]A helmet is something that provides protection. Since it connects with the head, the symbolic meaning relates primarily to thoughts and ideas.
If the helmet in your dream is connected to a particular kind of activity, such as a sport, there may be a desire to have more joy in your life as long as risk can be averted. Your interpretation should include considering whether the presence of the helmet is necessary or is coming from fear and an unwillingness to be vulnerable in the expression of new ideas.
[2]1- In dreams, it will depend on whether the helmet is being worn by someone else or by the dreamer.
If the former, it may have the same symbolism as the mask (See Also: Mask) in that it prevents the wearer being seen.
If the latter, then it is a symbol of protection and preservation.
2- In olden times, the helmet was the attribute of the warrior or hero. Even today as with the motorcycle helmet it is still largely a representation of the masculine.
3- Protection by the Spiritual Self.
[3]Gives gender-specific: In a man’s dream the helmet will represent his own virility. In a woman’s dream it will symbolize her attitude to the masculine.
The type of helmet will be relevant, since there are now cycle and sports helmets – among others – which do not cover the face, but do protect the head, the seat of the intellect.
[4]Psychological / emotional perspective: In olden times, the helmet was the attribute of the warrior or hero. Whilst it covered the face, it often had the eye pieces highlighted in order to scare the enemy. Even today – as with the motorcycle helmet – it is still in dreams largely a representation of the masculine.
[5]The helmet is the part of the armor that soldiers used to protect the face. To dream of this element, therefore, is related to our desire to hide ourselves to feel protected. You probably want to pass unnoticed before others, be it due to humility or due to repression. (See Also: ARMOR, MASK)
[6]To see a helmet in your dream, signifies that you need to keep your thoughts and ideas closely guarded.
If you dream of taking off your helmet to talk to someone, it suggests you are ready to let your guard down in front of them.
