Universal Landscape: Generational connection to the past; thoughts of death.
Dreaming Lens: Were you in a graveyard? Were you moving past a graveyard? What was the reason for being where you were? Was there a specific person connected to the grave? Were you being buried?
Personal Focus: The human race has a very powerful and profound relationship with our dead. While the bond is ultimately mysterious, there is no getting around the fact that we must stay connected to those who have passed in order to make meaning of the present. A graveyard’s primary purpose is to provide space for the living to make this connection. In this regard, a graveyard in a dream may be calling you to consider how some element of your current life, or your personality traits, may be the result of generations of family that preceded you.
A secondary symbolic meaning has evolved and emerged through the media. A graveyard is also home to all of the dark elements associated with death: ghouls, goblins, vampires, and other creatures of the night (See Also: Vampires). This setting in a dream may be an indication that you are in the realm of Shadow material; it may also represent the fear of death. (See Also: Death, Coffin).
